Angus Barn Wedding | Laura + Patrick

The Meeting…
They met on a family vacation in Key West. Both of their families have spent the holidays in Key west many times. Laura’s mom’s best friend is Patrick’s great aunt, and their paths have crossed many times but they were never introduced. They met on Christmas day in 2009, their families hung out throughout the week. They exchanged phone numbers in Key West and began texting after they left. They both felt that something was missing once they left. Patrick reached out through email and they started a long distance relationship.

The Proposal…
After working out at the gym, Laura went by Patrick’s. It was her birthday; so they had planned to go to dinner. Laura told Patrick she felt like picking up food and eating in. She walked into the kitchen for a quick glass of water before walking out the door. Patrick called out, “Laura, call Coby” (their boykin spaniel). Coby approached her with a wagging tail munching on something black. It sounded like he was chewing on plastic, so she immediately told him to drop. Coby then dropped a ring box in her hand. She looked up and saw Patrick had appeared from no where. Laura just remembers crying tears of happiness and spending the next three to four hours on the phone.

“Y’all did an excellent job!!  You have successfully made eleven people cry so far.  Patrick even said he got a little teary eyed…that should solidify your excellence. I’ve only seen him tear up one time and that was when USC’s marcus lattimore got hurt.  I cannot wait to watch the ceremony all the way through and hear the rehearsal dinner speeches again. Everything is a blur!!  I hope y’all know how much we appreciate your time and expertise. You have given us a gift we will treasure forever!!”…Laura, Bride
