Our films are not only about documenting important moments in people’s lives but to provide families a beautiful way to preserve their legacy for the generations to come. Families have many great traditions and stories that get passed down and shared at family gatherings, holidays, and reunions. It is such an honor to be able to tell and preserve these stories and traditions on film. These stories act as a uniting force and shared experience that helps the new generations appreciate who they are and where they come from. The Barham family has an amazing 4th of July tradition that has been in the family for 100 years. Sydney, who is a former bride of ours, wanted us to document this tradition for the family.
“My great-great grandfather started this family tradition of cooking a Brunswick stew on the 4th of July almost 100 years ago. It really is an “old school” way of feeding a big crowd and has been such a staple in my summer schedule my entire life. We have been recording the process on our own for several years now by taking photos and writing down step-by-step instructions. However, that just didn’t quite capture the way I see it in my mind’s eye and the way I want my children to remember it. After the amazing job Chris + Toni did depicting our wedding day, I knew we needed them to record this tradition on film!”
We hope this film encourages you to consider documenting these precious traditions and preserving them for the next generation.
