This year our memorial day weekend was crazy! We were in WV filming a wedding on Saturday, then drove home that night to shoot Katie and Ben’s wedding on Sunday. It was totally worth it! This is one of the funnest couples we’ve had the privilege to work with, they were constantly joking and giggling throughout the day, it was very sweet. They chose to see each other before the ceremony so we got to hop on a trolley and go around UNC’s beautiful campus for some beautiful pictures. Katie and Ben’s first dance was a big deal. The beginning was choreographed, they had practiced very hard before the wedding and were really looking forward to it and it was a huge success! There were lots of fun details in this wedding; they served biscuits from Time Out (a greasy spoon in town) late night (around 11:15), which is Ben’s favorite late night spot. They also had Sugarland’s fabulous gelato bar, Ben proposed in Italy as they were eating gelato, so it has some special significance. Here’s one of our favorite details that Katie told us before the wedding; “Katie is 5’2″ and Ben is 6’3″. Katie likes to wear tall heels, which she has for the wedding; however, she almost always takes her heels off mid evening, making her a little shrimp next to Ben, which he gets a kick out of.” This perfectly sums them up, fun and cute!
I have to say how amazing the flowers were at this wedding, Fresh Affairs totally blew me away as usual! The cascading flowers from the center chandelier were breathtaking! Katie and Ben, we wish you the best for years to come, thank you for choosing us to be a part of your special day!
“The film is awesome – looking forward to seeing the entire video! The biggest compliment I can give Heart Stone Films, other than an amazing final product, is that I honestly forgot they were at the wedding. They did an amazing job of fading into the background while still wonderfully capturing every important moment (plus a ton of other random, fabulous moments)! I’ve been to and in a number of weddings with videographers who are out in the dance floor, shoving a camera into guests faces as they are trying to dance. Definitely not what you get with Heart Stone. They are professional, attentive and creative!”…Katie, Bride
