Duke Chapel Wedding | Megan + Jay

The Meeting…
They first met at the Detroit Airport at gate C33, they were delayed for their connecting flight, Jay noticed Megan and asked her the status of the flight. They spent the next 2 hours talking, it came time to board the plane and as fate would have it, Delta had assigned them seats right beside each other!

The Proposal…
He picked her up from the airport and told her the “wooden gift” he ordered for her had come in. Of note, he was profusly sweating as he had his hand on her knee and it sweat through her pants. When they got to his house he gave it to her, it was her favorite picture of the two of them made into a wooden puzzle (she love puzzles!). They began putting it together, as they were completing the puzzle, she told him a piece was missing, but he assured her that all the pieces were there. As they finished the puzzle, there ended up being a piece missing. She said, “Oh no,” but he shook his head and reached into his pocket, he pulled out the last piece and gave it to her turned over. She turned it over and gasped as she read “Megan, will you marry me?!!” He moved the table and got down on one knee and told her that he had asked her parents two weeks ago and then said, “Will you marry me?” she said, “YES!”

The Details…
Megan’s bouquet had her something blue, which was one of the broaches her mother received when Duke won a National Championship. Each table at the reception had three little cakes that were the flavors of their smaller 3 tiered cake, they wanted their guests to be able to eat the cake when they wanted, rather then waiting for the cake pulls, which is a New Orleans tradition because Jay lives in New Orleans. Megan wanted to surprise Jay by bringing in some of the New Orleans charm; the favors was a cart decorated as a Mardi Gras float with candy on it for guests to help themselves when they leave. Jay rides on a Mardi Gras float each year, so this was a nod to him.

“Chris and Toni, We lovvvvvvve our video!!!  Thank you both so much!!!  Also, thank you for your kind words.  We really enjoyed working with y’all.  Jay and I look forward to receiving the DVDs.  Thanks again for capturing our special day in such a wonderful way!”…Megan, Bride

Chris and Toni Wheaton created a masterpiece that vividly captured the special moments of our wedding day! The angles, the details, and the way in which the shots were seamlessly transitioned were exceptional. The music chosen for our video was new to my husband and I, yet completely consistent with our likes and the mood of the event. We now love the songs!!!! Finally, the day of the wedding we barely knew they were there because of the high tech equipment and professionalism. Also, all my vendors recommended each other which speaks highly for each of them!! Heart Stone Films gave us the best memories of our wedding!
