Lara and Ben’s theme was birds and tulips. Ben’s nickname for Lara is “wee bird”, Lara’s nickname for Ben is Tulip. They did a really great job of blending the two together. Lara is from Scotland and all the guys wore Kilts which was very cool and unique. They chose to have their ceremony and reception at the Cotton Room, which I love because of the exposed brick walls and beams. Their ceremony was very special and sentimental, Ben’s face when Lara walked down the aisle was really precious. There were so many moments in the ceremony and throughout the day where you could just see how much they love each other by simply looking in their eyes and the fact that Ben, who isn’t Scottish, wore a Kilt, the pastor referenced this in the opening of the ceremony. There’s a moment in the vows where Lara get’s choked up and you see Ben say “you’ve got this” that was a very moving moment. Lara is genuinely sweet and lovable and her admiration for Ben is precious. After the ceremony Lara and Ben snuck downstairs into a room to have a few minutes together and I sneaked in for a little bit and Ben said “look at your man, look what i’m wearing for you” it really summed them up quite perfectly. They are one of the funnest couple’s as well and we really felt like we were not just there filming the wedding but a part of their group of friends. Lara and Ben really are 2 love birds, and you know how much Chris and I love birds 😉 Congratulations Mr. + Mrs. Purnell!
